The lives of select US troops are being changed through the help of cosmetic dentists such as Dr. Kevin Winters. Dr. Winters and other Academy of Comprehensive Esthetics (ACE) dentists are participating in the associations “A Soldiers Smile” charity events in which servicemen and women are given free restorative and cosmetic dentistry treatments. The events kick-off began this past weekend in Scottsdale, AZ at an ACE dental conference where Montel Williams discussed the A Soldiers Smile event and the ACE dentists.
Montel Williams is a decorated Navy veteran and is best known for his celebrity status as a talk show host. He is also known for his aggressive advocacy of the well-being of our troops and makes a great match for the endorsement of these events. Currently Montel is looking to appear on additional TV shows and conduct more interviews where he will discuss the ACE dentists and the A Soldiers Smile charity events. Having already appeared on national TV to discuss the goodwill services dentists like Dr. Winters are providing, the events are slated to gain much exposure and will help to improve the lives of troops across the country.
The cause comes at a good time as the details of many veterans who have been turned away for dental care is becoming more and more evident. There are restrictions in place that limit the care some of our vets can receive making it difficult to maintain oral health and live pain free. In fact, the law has restrictions on providing health care for veterans based on their condition in or out of service and their income level.
Dr. Winters and the ACE dental association are taking measures into their own hands and being proactive to help change lives. Remember that Friday November 11th is Veteran’s Day. Thank a vet for their service to our great country.
