Why More Brides Are Choosing Invisalign

excited bride and groom on their wedding day

All brides want to look their best for their special day. It’s envisioned as the culmination of our personal story, the happy ending of one life and the beginning of our happily ever after. Not only that, it will be one of the most closely documented events of our lives–we will be in many, many pictures, and those pictures will often be out on display.

It’s not just brides that worry how they will look on their wedding day–their entire family worries, too. Mothers, fathers, friends–everyone in the wedding party wants to look their best.

So it’s no wonder that people are often seeking out cosmetic treatments to improve their appearance for the wedding day. And now a new study shows that among all the treatments people seek out for weddings, Invisalign is the top treatment. That’s according to data from RealSelf, an independent review site for all types of cosmetic procedures, including plastic surgery and cosmetic dentistry.

Where the Data Comes from

RealSelf is an independent review site where people who have had or are considering cosmetic procedures go for information from doctors and from other patients. Periodically RealSelf looks through the reviews and questions to learn trends developing in the beauty world. For this blog, they searched all the non-surgical treatment reviews during the 12 months from May 2017 to May 2018 for keywords “wedding” or “getting married.” They then took all these reviews and looked for which treatments were being mentioned. It turns out that nearly 4% of all reviews focused on weddings were related to Invisalign. It was nearly three times as frequent as the next most popular treatment, CoolSculpting.

This isn’t a surprise. There are many reasons why brides and others are looking to Invisalign before their big day.

Everyone Wants to Smile at Weddings

With the possible exception of a child’s birth, there is no happier event in most people’s lives than a wedding. Everyone wants to be seen smiling as they celebrate with the happy couple. This means that they want to smile to everyone they see, and, most importantly, they want to smile in the pictures.

But people don’t feel comfortable smiling if they’re not happy with the appearance of their teeth. And, except for a missing tooth, nothing will make people more unhappy about their smile than crooked teeth. So straightening teeth is at the top of everyone’s priority list.

Invisalign Is the Most Convenient Way to Straighten Teeth

But there are many approaches to straighten teeth. Why choose Invisalign? Invisalign continues to grow in popularity because it offers so many benefits. Many of these benefits are particularly appealing to brides-to-be and their families.

With Invisalign, you can keep eating a wide range of foods. This is especially important for people who are dieting to lose weight before the wedding. If you have to give up cake, ice cream, and doughnuts for your diet, why would you want to also give up carrots, celery, nuts, and popcorn because of your braces?

And braces are a pain to clean. With the busy schedule of events for months before the wedding, who wants to be spending all that time cleaning their braces?

Plus, braces can ruin your smile for all the pictures leading up to the wedding. We still want to look our best in engagement photos, pictures from the bridal shower, the bachelorette party, and all the reunions that come when family and friends gather for the happy occasion. With Invisalign, you can smile confidently in all these pictures and no one needs to worry about being a brace-face.

Many Options for a Beautiful Smile at Your Wedding

Although Invisalign is the most popular treatment for brides and others before a wedding, we offer many cosmetic dentistry procedures to improve your smile before your big day. Teeth whitening can be used to quickly give your smile a bright boost. And if you’re looking to both straighten and brighten teeth with the same procedure, veneers can give you a completely new smile.
